Client services lead - healthcare communications

It comprises an integrated cluster of branded agencies and specialisms, encompassing medical communications, healthcare learning, clinical and commercial consultancy, market access, rare diseases, genomic medicine, digital engagement and advocacy.


To support the continued growth of our business, we are creating a new opportunity for an individual to provide strategic and commercial leadership to our agency teams in the USA and UK. The successful candidate will partner with clients and colleagues to ensure the design and delivery of complex medical communication and healthcare learning assignments. Experience gained working on rare disease assignments and an awareness of the complexities of the rare disease sector would be an advantage.


The role can be based from our offices in Princeton NJ or Chicago IL, and frequent travel will be required to service clients on both coasts. Key responsibilities will include:


  • Overall responsibility for managing a broad range of healthcare communications projects from briefing to delivery
  • Uncovering new business opportunities with existing and new clients and leading the business development process
  • Negotiation of project budgets with client companies
  • Leading negotiations with clients’ purchasing specialists
  • Providing clients with a high level of commercial expertise
  • Establishing and building on positive long-term relationships with client teams
  • Collaborating with leading medical experts and AMICULUM colleagues across all offices
  • Creating and managing project budgets
  • Leading and motivating internal project teams

Requirements

Candidates for this role will have:


  • Significant healthcare communications agency client services/account direction experience
  • An in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical clients and compliance/content approval requirements
  • Scientific understanding and enthusiasm for healthcare-related topics and the capability to work across multiple therapy areas
  • A degree, preferably in a biomedical science
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a diplomatic approach to dealing with multiple client and team requirements
  • Intermediate/advanced skills with standard business software packages (Word/Excel/PowerPoint essential)
